Position Summary:

Our client has an exciting new role on their IT team for a talented SQL developer with a passion for healthcare! They are hiring a candidate with experience in healthcare who can help them with compliance reports, making the health care process smoother and more accessible to their clients. The candidate will also provide daily support to operations and should have some knowledge and interest in the healthcare industry.

 Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree 
  • 3-5 years of DBA experience managing Microsoft SQL Servers
  • Experience with healthcare and/or healthcare reporting systems
  • Experience with reporting on claims, compliances, etc
  • Experience with stored procedures and triggers
  • Experience with Plexis healthcare systems is a plus

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applications and databases by evaluating client needs, analyzing requirements, and developing software systems
  • Enhances staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions
  • Answer technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teach improved processes, and mentor team members
  • Identify requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and with other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Create compliance reports following specifications from clients
  • Review query performance and optimize code
  • Write queries used for front-end applications (reporting services, ad-hoc reports, websites, desktop applications, or cloud apps)
  • Plan, test, and install upgrades/patches for SQL Servers and operating system
  • Design, build, test, debug, document, and maintain database applications, reports, and database queries using a variety of technologies
  • Design and code database tables to store the application’s data
  • Work with application developers to create optimized queries
  • Create database triggers for automation, e.g., automatic email notifications
  • Create table indexes to improve database performance
